available in PC format as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
lists the kits, catalogue number and year of first release - over 800 kits!
lists all Airfix kits, sets and figures from 1949 to 1990 (up to and including the 1990 Edition Catalogue)
lists re-releases and catalogue re-numberings
for the new collector - an estimate of scarcity
or rarity is provided for each kit
believed to be more complete and accurate than
other well known sources of Airfix kit information (see Sources of Information
- many comments provided on individual kits
- pictures are provided for the vast majority of the kits listed in Volume
1 of the Guide
divided into sections - planes, trains, ships,
space, AFVs, buildings, cars & bikes, figures, etc etc
also lists presentation sets and promotional offerings
each section has a brief overview describing packaging
styles, for example
space is provided in the spreadsheet for collectors
to add their own comments and "tick-off" kits within their collections

the Collectors Guide is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet (Excel 2000 format),
see picture below of a sample screen
unfortunately the spreadsheets are not compatible with Lotus 123 or Microsoft
Works. If you have either of these programs you will need to download the
free Excel Viewer program from the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com)
built and tested with Windows 95, 98, ME, XP and 2000
usage is designed for 1024x768 screen resolutions.
Greater amounts of scrolling may be necessary with lower resolution screens
the spreadsheet is designed for PC use only -
MAC users beware!
